As Internet users have evolved and become more web savvy, the user experience has slowly but securely become one of the most critical elements of a web application. In the same way that an outstanding strategy with poor execution will result in a total failure, an outstanding web project with a bad user experience will result in visitors leaving the site or users becoming increasingly frustrated and not using the application.

Usability and Interface Design deal with the following subjects:

• How they perform transactions
• How they rate their level of satisfaction
• Whether or not the site meets their expectations

Site usability is tricky phase that mixes a number of disciplines and skills. Marketing, visual arts, psychology, and information professionals must all work together to produce a site that will be visually appealing, easy to interact with, and match the image that the company is trying to portray.
